Biography
Richard Onyancha is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where he is involved with research in the modeling of multi-scale systems, empirical and analytical development of micro-forming process models, and investigating the spatial visualization skills of students. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, his MS from Brunel University, United Kingdom and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. Previously he has taught at Moi University in Kenya. He just completed a sabbatical as a Fulbright Scholar (2014-15) at the School of Engineering, Copperbelt University in Zambia. Part of the work during the sabbatical included curriculum review, professional development of junior faculty and initiating and enhancing university-industry linkages. He is a member of the Rose-Hulman Faculty without Borders and has co-led faculty and student study teams to Africa in the last five years.
